Projects preserved
NFT metadata is the most fragile aspect of an NFT, yet as an industry, metadata is often an afterthought.
Unfortunately, some NFT collections have already lost their metadata due to certain metadata practices, centralized servers, and abandoned communities.
To help stem this loss, Pob Studio introduces Preserve initiative, offering our expertise on NFT production to distressed artists and communities to help save your metadata.

How we save metadata
Preservation requires a multi-faceted approach.
Here's how we do it.
Due Diligence
Once a collection is brought to our attention, we begin our process by analyzing the contracts and metadata. We appraise how the collection can best be saved.
Solution buy in
We are beginning to work towards our proposed solution. At this time, we are preparing public documents and reaching out to key community members to ensure the right solution is implemented.
Execute
With the supported of the community, we build new metadata, migrate metadata to the preferred decentralized medium, build new protocols, or help facilitate protocol changes.
Long term continuity
The main work is done and the NFT collection is ready to be preserved. We work to ensure that the right community players are now responsible for the future of the collection.
Guiding philosophy
What we consider when building a solution
- Transparent and un-censorable. Metadata should be easily accessible, replicable, provably accurate. This ensures that your NFT is fairly appraised for what it is.
- Ease of preservation. For NFTs to truly be permanent, their metadata needs to be packaged in a way that future audiences can retrieve and understand.
- Pragmatism. Its unrealistic to ask thousands of owners or artists to commit to making on-chain txns. It's both costly and impractical. We deeply value answers that can actually be implemented while balancing the considerations of all partys.

We are pragmatics. We aren't here to drum up click bait or wholly unrealistic solutions. Pob Studio is here to offer real answers, and stand ready to execute them on your behalf.
FAQ
How do I get my NFT collection preserved?
While we have the ultimate say, we are open to all concerned collections. We triage collections based on urgency, community demand, and cultural importance.
Does preservation mean permanence?
No. Preservation is an active endeavor by any community. What we offer is to kickstart that process for your community. This means if the metadata has issues, we can help fix them. If it's on a centralized server, we can help migrate it to a storage medium of choice.
Does Pob Studio host the metadata?
No. We do not host your metadata or take admin control over your contracts. We do not offer any guarantees your metadata will be around forever, instead we help prepare the collection to be maximally successful for long term preservation.
How much does it cost to preserve metadata?
It's free. However, we do it at the discretion of our time and other studio demands. If you like what we do, we strongly urge you to support us through our grant.
